Zen Eikoku Tomiki Aikido Renmei is hosting a Koryu Dai Ichi Seminar under the direction of Shaun Hoddy Sensei 6th Dan Tomiki Aikido, 1st Dan Taiho-Jutsu.
Saturday 14th November 2009, from 2:30pm to 5:45pm
"My daughter Lisa who lost her battle to cancer on 27th November 2006 has inspired this course. The aim of this course is to raise money for the Karen Ball Fund. The Karen Ball Fund is a small charity based in the county of Rutland who came to our aid by funding some of Lisa’s private treatment. All profits made will be donated to the Karen Ball Fund."

Aikimail September/October 2009Christophe Courtin is opening a new club in Dover, Kent with the help of Gowaryu and Katsujinken Aikido clubs.
The club is called Genryukan Aikido and is affiliated to ZETAR.
Training will be every monday from 22nd June at the Dover Leisure Centre, from 7:00-9:00pm.
It is open to anyone over the age of 14.

The Meikyokai Aikido club is holding a seminar with Sensei Robert Mustard 7th Dan Yoshinkan Aikido on November 7th and 8th at the Dartford Judo Centre in Kent. The seminar is an open event and would be of interest to all students of Aikido regardless of style.
Mustard Sensei is one of the leading exponents of Aikido in the world today having spent 10 years in Japan. In 1991 Mustard Sensei was appointed Itaku Shidoin by Shioda Kancho and remained the Chief Foreign Instructor at the Yoshinkan Hombu Dojo until he moved back to Canada in 1995
This is a great opportunity to train with one of the best aikidoka in the world today, so don't miss out!

Due to Mr Yamada being in poor health at present and unable to travel to the UK, the seminar at the Shoshinkan Dojo with him will not be taking place.
We all wish Yamada San a speedy recovery.
Last night we hosted a self defence class for SAGA employees, with all proceeds going to SAGA's Charitable Trust. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and the feedback has been trememdous. Some photos are in the gallery

Some Gowa Ryu members accepted an invitation to train with Shukumei Aikido Club on Sunday night in Otford.

More members of Gowaryu Aikido obtain the British Aikido Board Coach Level1 Certificate of competence.
Over the weekend of the 24/25th January 2009, Thomas Davey, Christophe Courtin, Eoin Kerrigan and Phil Eyers successfully completed the British Aikido Board level 1 Coach course hosted by Tony Evangelou at the London Aikido club, and instructed by Steve and Ann Billett from the Aikido Development Society.
The course was an intensive two days consisting of a full day of theory based learning following by a day of practical assessment.
Congratulations to all of them.

About Igarashi Shihan:
IGARASHI Kazuo Shihan is currently dojo-cho of Aikido Igarashi Dojos with the headquarters based in Hashimoto. Currently teaching in half a dozen dojos in the greater Tokyo area. Igarashi Sensei started his Aikido career back in 1964 at Meiji University under Kobayashi Yasuo Shihan. He later entered Kobayashi Dojos as a live in student in 1973. Igarashi Sensei went on to become a professional Aikido instructor and in 1978 was invited to teach in Sweden and Finland. In 1983 Igarashi Sensei established his first dojo in Hashimoto. Igarashi sensei was awarded his 7th Dan in 2000 and now teaches all over the world including Finland, Sweden, China, Canada, Perth. We are very proud to invite Igarashi sensei to teach in the UK
